the three decades of development

What is development? Well perhaps it’s the evolution of something to reach its zenith. The metamorphosis of an organism to be in it’s adult form. It is the process of creating something to attain progress. It is a leap forward to achieve improvement.

Development is a step by step movement. It does not happen in just a single snap of a finger or in a wink of an eye. It takes time. Seconds. Minutes. Hours. Days. Weeks. Months. Years. And long, long years of shaping.

After the post-war era of World War II, during the time of rebuilding and reconstructing I was very happy to say that we were once among the superpowers. The Philippines was among the second world countries, strong and proud.

Seventies, the time of dictatorship were the Marcoses rule the top. Then from glory and glitz, we fell from rags to riches. The realignment of priorities. The rise from the fall marks the legacy of the 80’s. The historical EDSA Revolution took place during this decade., where sectors from women and the Lumads flourished.

Development doesn’t stop here. In this world nothing is constant. So we must say that our battle for development does not end here. A new time has come to life. New opportunity for improvement, another challenge to struggle, to live for and even to die for.

The Valkyries: An Encounter With Angels by Paulo Coelho

The Valkyries: An Encounter With Angels

Compared to other authors, Paulo Coelho is different in some aspects. Aside from writing inspirationally, he writes with a squeeze of passion: to enlighten the reader’s mind.

All throughout this semester, I have been reading Paulo’s works. Such are The Alchemist, Veronika Decides To Die and now The Valkyries: An Encounter With Angels.

The Valkyries archives Paulo and Christina Coelho’s 40-day exploration into the blazing heat and uncanny mysteries of the Mojave Desert. A magical quest for angels, The Valkyries is ultimately a story about forgiving our past and moving on for our future.

The book itself is indeed a natural phenomenon!

I am not a supernatural person; I do not even believe that ghosts are real. But I am a super religious one. I believe that everything happens for a reason. That’s why I did not do what Gene did in the book even though it was mentioned that it is very effective.
Effective in ways like you can feel your soul grow through clearing your second mind. You just have to repeat this all over again.

I have not read any self-mediation books ever in my life and I never planned to buy one.

This book tackles about the adventure of the couple. It is known that Christina is a church go-er and a very religious one while Paulo is very dissimilar, he does the ritual, the magic things and even the run-offs.

There was this picture whereby the Valkyrie Valhalla executed the Ritual that Demolishes all Ritual. So usual to say but it did scare me a lot. It was early morning when I got to this part of the book; it did disturb me, even until now. I do not want you to believe me but I want to share my experience after that.

I have been hearing things that I cannot figure out what. I have been having hallucinations; I even think I am now a certified schizophrenic.

It is scary but I am trying to get rid of it.

So, what’s the goal here?

I just want to impose a belief. I want everyone to believe that miracles and super naturals exist. Sounds so nonsense but I think this is important. Don’t wait for things to happen to you. Avoid doing things that you knew the consequences of the outcomes.

To know more, read the book. Happy reading!
